The Society of North Carolina Archivists (SNCA) traditionally offers two scholarships of $500 each to support student attendance at the society’s annual meeting and pre-conference workshops. For the 2022 Annual Meeting taking place virtually, the Education Committee has decided to award up to four $250 scholarships. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to use their award to further their professional development. A one-year membership in SNCA is included with the scholarship as well.
This scholarship is intended to promote continuing archival education and professional alliances among archivists in North Carolina. Applicants are strongly encouraged to register for workshops that provide supplemental education to existing coursework and work experiences.
Applicants must be students enrolled in an archival studies, public history, or library science program in North Carolina. A previous SNCA scholarship recipient may not make further applications. Applications are due February 14, 2022. You can download the form here.
Non-students and folks with full-time archives positions may wish to apply for the Michelle Francis Scholarship.
